Azam Mairaj, is a renowned business leader in the upscale Defence area of Karachi, Pakistan. He has been a practicing estate agent since 1987. In 1996, he established The Consultants, a real estate consultancy. The newly founded Defence and Clifton Real Estate Agents' Association (DEFCLAREA) elected Azam Mairaj as the Secretary for Educational affairs in 1997. During his two- year tenure he introduced unprecedented new trends in Pakistan's realty industry by organizing seminars, workshops and knowledge sharing sessions. It was the first time ever in the history of Pakistan's Real Estate industry. Consequently, he was re-elected in 1999.

During his second tenure, he designed and organized an MBA in Real Estate Marketing, along with a private educational institute in collaboration with Defence and Clifton Real Estate Agents' Association (DEFCLAREA).

In 2005, his first book on Real Estate "Mai Tou Estate Agent Hogaya" ("I Have Become an Estate Agent") came out. According to a writer, Colonel Ashfaq Hussain: "It is perhaps the first literary book which is based on the profession of Real Estate in the subcontinent".

A prolific communicator, Azam Mairaj has also been writing for the Real Estate magazine published for Real Estate in Pakistan. His passion for education in Real Estate proved him to be a trendsetter in the Real Estate industry, lecturing extensively on the subject.

In 2011, he was appointed first chairman of the scrutiny committee of DEFCLAREA elections. In 2013, his second book on Real Estate was published. "Pakistan may Real Estate ka Karobar"(Real Estate business in Pakistan). It is more academic and tightly focused in preparation for being the elementary reference work for any future government-backed education in Real Estate.

In 2015, he virtually established Mairaj Real Estate Education and Research Institute. Under this banner on 19 December 2015 he initiated a fifteen-day training workshop on the Basics of Real Estate Marketing BOREM in collaboration with Defence and Clifton Real Estate Agents' Association (DEFCLAREA). So far a series of 5 programs have been conducted. This course was designed by Azam Mairaj keeping in mind the ground realities of Pakistan's local real estate market. Also signed an MOU with DEFCLAREA in 2019 for this program.

Azam Mairaj has delivered lectures and arranged knowledge sharing sessions for real estate education. Recently, he was keynote speaker at Real Estate workshop organized by DHA Suffa University.

Apart from his professional responsibilities, Azam Mairaj is very passionate about neglected social issues related to the alienation of Christian youth. In order to redress the situation, he started a social awareness educational programme in the memory of his late father Mairaj under the name of Mairaj Memorial Social Awareness Educational Programme Pakistan (MMSAEPP) which now has converted to an ideological movement "Tehreek-e- Shanakhat" of the identity of Pakistani Christians in the Pakistani society. The research for these knowledge sharing sessions/lectures resulted in a series of eleven books. The prominent ones are, "Dharti Jaye Kyun Paraey", "Shanakhat Nama, the Identity" and "Shan-e-Sabz o Safaid". His book "Shanakhat Nama, the Identity" is part of the MPhil curriculum of FSC College University. "Dharti Jaye Kyun Paraey" was selected as MPhil project in Gujarat University for translation. The translation "Neglected Christian Children of Indus" is now being read all over the world.
